K.I.S.S.


What a difference a few years can make, the conversation about real estate has shifted 180 degrees. But let's keep it simple, buying a home does not take quantitative analysis, and very few outside of say Noah at Urbandigs can articulate that point of view anyway. The charts and data that most brokers generate to present to their customers are pretty weak(but the colorful pie charts look cool!) and many could not begin to interpret the data anyway. Most of the "power brokers" in our business have gotten where they are through great marketing skills and social networking. Not empirical analysis of data leading to economic predictions about housing trends. Hell not even the best economists can get this right, let alone your broker!


So a new real estate model in my opinion has less to do with new tools for analysis and more to do with commission structure, transparency; these are the two biggies. So The Burkhardt Group is not just talking about a "new model" it is the core of our business, we are the new model! The data and information that everyone craves is now available to all NYC real estate buyers, renters and sellers. Through sites like ACRIS, Property Shark and StreetEasy you now can easily search properties, do comparative analysis and get price history. So we didn't need to develop tools to do any of this stuff, someone else has already done it. We have rewritten the book on how a brokerage firm operates and makes money. We offer a "menu" of services with a multitude of options for buyers, sellers an renters to choose from. So whether you want full service or you do most of the leg work yourself, we can offer you an option that will add value to your real estate transaction. From discounted fees for sellers to commission rebates for buyers and renters. We also offer flat rate consultation type services. This is no longer theoretical...we are doing it!


So there you have it! We are offering you an alternative to the standard practices of a full commission brokerage house. I can guarantee you our service is as good if not better, and we provide the exact same service with the same tools. This has been very exciting, my personal commissions are already into the six figures this year, in what most would agree is a crap market(and that is mostly rental/consults). I am looking forward to showing other agents the benefits of working under this model as well. I will also be posting comments from clients that have benefited from our services and what their experience was like.
